This collaboration between Amphora Projects and NY-based video artist Aaron Alden explores the intricate relationship between water and humanity, emphasizing our role in preserving this essential life source. This immersive, site-specific video installation shot in ultra-slow-motion delivers a striking visual narrative that highlights water’s beauty, fragility, and its significance in our future.

By integrating layers of user responsive technology and elements of chance into the work, this piece presents a direct relationship between the movement of the viewer and the movement of water, outlining the nature of our relationship with our life source; the more we act upon it, the more it responds to us - underscoring our capacity to affect the nature of water within our environment. This installation reflects the true nature of our relationship with water when we act upon its preservation - merging art and audience within a living, dynamic exchange, each transforming the experience for the other. Much like life, this work is not just to be observed - It is to be experienced, and to shape the experience as well.

Through this approach, we create art that invites reflection, interaction, and shared discovery, emphasizing the inextricable relationship between water and human life - inviting the viewer to see water much like we all are - as pure beauty in motion. With its support of the ocean conservation nonprofit Blue Action, this installation created a meaningful layer of environmental advocacy to one of the year’s most celebrated art events.
